Solar Energy Sales Consultant James Apicella

As a field sales consultant for Sunrun in Boston, James Apicella connects residential customers to the company’s line of solar energy products. James Apicella follows each homeowner from initial contact to solar power system installation and activation after determining their patterns of consumption. In addition, he mentors other sales representatives and provides leads. As part of this work, he introduced solar to a small New Hampshire town where few homeowners had it.

Mr. Apicella is also a former United States Marine, having served as a squad leader on several home and overseas tours. He led infantry assault troops in the use of demolition devices and rockets to breach obstacles. His soldiers played a vital role in the Philippines and Japan, taking the place of other units that participated in the Second Gulf War.

Mr. Apicella’s other accomplishments include running in several races, notably the Boston Marathon and Reach the Beach, where his military team placed third. He also was a Reebok product tester for four years. In addition, he supports the Marines’ Toys for Tots program as a community collection coordinator.

While in the service, Mr. Apicella obtained a BS in criminal justice from Southern Vermont College, distinguishing himself by competing in rugby, snowboarding, and cross-country skiing and earning the NCAA’s Athlete of the Week award. His other pursuits include traveling, hiking, fishing, and boating.
